CSU's Tanui and Kelly Compete at NCAA Regional

Sophomore Naomi Tanui and freshman JuaShaunna Kelly represented Coppin State as the Eagle women's cross country team concluded its season at the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Regional at Princeton University on Saturday.

 

Competing in one of the top regions in the nation, Tanui recorded a solid 56th-place finish as she completed the 6k course in 23:41.

 

Kelly placed 175th overall as she crossed the line in 26:58.

 

Frances Koons of Villanova captured the individual title in 21:11, while Princeton and West Virginia tied for the team title with 51 points.

 

It marked the first regional appearance for both Tanui and Kelly.
