Elayne Greer and Yolanda Roberts each had seven kills to lead the Norfolk State volleyball team to a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-18, 25-23) over North Carolina Central on Wednesday night at the L.T. Walker Complex.
Statistically, both teams played a very even match. NSU (8-21) totaled 31 kills, 39 digs, 29 assists and seven service aces, while NCCU (4-23) had 27 kills, 33 digs, 22 assists and four aces.
Nadia Hayes led NCCU with six kills, while Kristan Fields had 10 assists and Rachel Lloyd had 11 digs.
For NSU, Nicole Kessner hit a team-high .333 and added three kills, five digs, an ace, and a match-high 27 assists.
The Spartans return to Echols Hall for their final three matches of the regular season. They host conference foe Florida A&M in their final MEAC contest at 7 p.m. on Friday. NSU also takes on Winston-Salem State on Sunday (3 p.m.) and Hampton for Senior Night on Wednesday (7 p.m.).
