The Howard University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently participated in a help yourself project. Charity started at home when the members of SAAC participated in a daylong interactive program of teaching the students of the Howard University Middle School (MS2) ages 11 to 13 what it takes to be a collegiate student-athlete.
Howard University's SAAC kept the students engaged in interactive activities and answered questions regarding the academic standards, time management, sportsmanship qualities and athletic talent needed to be a student-athlete.
The SAAC members were delighted that the middle school students were knowledgeable about college sports as members of the HU community and are excited about what the future holds.
SAAC members were invited back to present a more detailed presentation about their particular sport at a later date.
