Florida A&M senior Samara Ferraz was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. South Carolina State freshman Bria Brimmer earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Ferraz (MB, 6-1, Sr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) hit 67-percent from the floor to lead Florida A&M to a 2-0 mark last week and extend their conference win streak to three matches this season. The middle blocker tallied 25 kills on 30 total attacks and added four aces and three digs last week.
Brimmer (S, 5-6, Fr., Austin, Texas) averaged 25 assists per match in two victories for the Lady Bulldogs. The setter hit 37-percent on 7-of-19 from the floor. She added two aces and ten digs in the wins. This is Brimmer’s second Rookie of the Week honor this season.

Breanna Allums (NSU) totaled a team-high 29 kills and 22 digs to aid the Spartans last week.
Angie Clewis (NSU) amassed 24 kills, four blocks (two solo), three aces and seven digs for the Spartans last week.
Gazelle D’Artois (How) totaled 53 kills and 20 digs last week to lead the Lady Bison to a 3-0 mark.
Christine Edwards (UMES) recorded a double-double of 17 kills and 15 digs against Delaware.
Jarne Gleaton (SCSU) averaged 8.5 kills in two victories for the Lady Bulldogs last week.
Alyssa Jackson (Ham) totaled 26 digs in two matches for the Lady Pirates.
Whitney Johnson (UMES) hit 70-percent from the field (15-of-20) in a 3-0 conference victory over Hampton.
Cassandra Joyner (DSU) averaged 15 kills and five digs per match to help the Lady Hornets to a 1-1 mark last week.
Gabrielle Martin (How) hit a season-high 43-percent (13-of-28) in a win over Hampton.
Chelle Ticeson (B-CU) led the Lady Wildcats to a 2-1 mark last week with 28 kills and 16 blocks (eight solo).
