ROSS TAKES FOURTH PLACE AT UMES INVITATIONAL

A fourth place finish by Mallory Ross was the highlight for Delaware State at the UMES Hawk Challenge on Saturday. Ross was the first Hornet runner to complete the 3.1 mile course, recording a season-best time of 18-minutes-44.83 seconds.

 

She trailed only first first-place finisher Jennifer Chichester of Norfolk State (18:04.10), runner-up Merrecia James of UMES (18:23.99) and third-place Krystle Medlin of Hampton (18:39.58) in the race of 55 competitors.

 

Delaware State was fifth in the team standings with 100 points. Host Maryland-Eastern Shore was first with 36 points.  Kendra Mayers was the second DSU runner to finish the race, coming in 16th overall with a time of 20:25.23.
