Bethune-Cookman’s Natasha Ferguson was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Hampton’s Quanneisha Perry earned Rookie of the Week honors while Florida A&M’s Denise Tate was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Ferguson (Forward/Center, 6-1, Sr., Walterboro, South Carolina) averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds in two games for the Lady Wildcats last week. Ferguson recorded back-to-back double-doubles against South Carolina-Upstate (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Wofford (20 points, 12 rebounds). In an overtime loss to Wofford, she added three assists, two steals and one block.
Perry (Forward, 5-10, Fr., Decatur, Georgia) scored 11 points, on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Lady Pirates to a MEAC win over Howard. Perry added one block, three steals and three assists to help seal the victory for the Lady Pirates.
Tate (Forward/Center, 6-1, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio) posted 28 rebounds in two games for the Lady Rattlers last week including a career-high 21 rebounds (17 defensive) against Savannah State. Tate’s rebounds against the Tigers was the best MEAC rebounding performance this season and ranks eighth nationally among Division I opponents. This is the second time this season that Tate has earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Corin Adams (MSU) recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and six steals to help the Lady Bears snap Coppin State’s 41-game regular-season win streak against MEAC opponents.
Rachel Butler (Ham) scored a game-high 14 points in a MEAC win over Howard.
Raquel Collier (DSU) led all players with 17 points and nine rebounds in a non-conference win over St. Augustine’s.
Brittany Dodson (MSU) connected on all six of her free throws to finish with 10 points against Lafayette.
Tiffany Gadsden (NSU) posted her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a non-conference victory over Virginia Union.
Demetria Frank (BCU) recorded 16 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals and one blocked shot against Wofford.
Stephanie Foster (FAMU) was 7-of-8 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc for a total of 16 points against Florida.
April McBride (UMES) recorded a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds in an overtime victory over Kent State.
Keturah Newkirk (BCU) tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats.
Shalane Price (MSU) tallied 15 points, including a career-high four three-pointers in a MEAC win over Coppin State.
Tiffany Reid (UMES) lead UMES to a victory over Kent State with 19 points, five rebounds along with three blocks and one steal.
Queenique Tyler (UMES) posted 10 points and dished out six assists in a win over Kent State.
Areya Walker (NSU) tallied team-highs of 16 points and 16 rebounds in a non-conference win over Virginia Union.
