University of Maryland Eastern Shore freshman Maria Rodriguez was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Rodriguez (Fr., 5-5, Ibague Tolima, Columbia) averaged a 204 pinfall in six games during her first collegiate competition as a Lady Hawk at the Bowie State Lady Bulldogs Classic. Rodriguez posted four 200-plus games including a game-high 236 in a 1052-822 win over Bowie State. As a team, the #3 Lady Hawks finished with a 9-2 record and knocked down 10,028 pins.
