Football 1/3/2008 5:00:00 AM MEAC Media Relations DSU'S LAVAN AND REEVES SELECTED FOR PIGSKIN AWARDS The Pigskin Club of Washington DC has selected DSU Head Football Coach Al Lavan and senior linebacker Russell Reeves as their 2007 Coach and Player of the Year.Lavan who guided the Hornets to their best finish in school history (10-2), the MEAC Championship and DSU’s first national playoff appearance, will receive the Talmadge L. “Marse” Hill Award.Reeves had a fantastic year as the team captain finishing as the leading tackler with 93, 12 tackles for 79 yards in losses, one interception, seven breakups, five sacks, four forced fumbles and one safety. He will receive the Cato W. Adams Award.Both awards will be presented at the 70th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.
