Delaware State’s Roy Bright was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. North Carolina A&T State’s Thomas Coleman was named the Rookie of the Week while Morgan State’s Boubacar Coly was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.
Bright (F, 6-6, 225, Sr., Durham, NC) averaged 22 points and five rebounds while shooting 57-percent from the field as he led the Hornets to a 2-0 mark last week. Against the Winston-Salem State Rams Bright recorded 24 points, connected on 4-of-8 from behind the arc, grabbed four rebounds, and blocked two shots. He followed that performance with 20 points, six rebounds and two steals against the Norfolk State Spartans.
Coleman (C, 6-9, 210, Fr., Louisville, KY) had a huge impact in the Aggies two victories last week. Against Coppin State Coleman pulled down 11 boards, nine in the second half, and blocked nine shots in only 21 minutes of action. In the two games Coleman averaged six points, eight rebounds and 5.5 blocks.
Coly (C, 6-9, 220, Sr., Ziguinchor, Senegal) earned his fourth straight Defensive Player of the Week honor after posting two dominating performances to help the Bears to a 1-1 finish. Against the Spartans, Coly posted his seventh double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 boards. He also blocked three shots. He grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds with five blocks in the Bears 57-41 win against the Florida A&M Rattlers.

Marc Davis (UMES) averaged 12 points and five rebounds for the Maryland E. Shore Hawks.
Mike Freeman (HAM) finished the week with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while shooting 54-percent from the floor, for the Pirates.
John Holmes (BCU) posted a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds in the Wildcats one-point win over the Coppin State Eagles.
Leslie Robinson (FAMU) scored 22 points, connecting on 9-of-13 baskets, against the Hampton Pirates.
Steven Rush (NCAT) averaged 15.5 points and knocked down eight three-pointers while leading the Aggies to a 2-0 finish last week.
Rashad West (HAM) shot 40-percent from the field while averaging 22 points in victories against Florida &M and South Carolina State last week.
