NORFOLK ST. SHUT OUT BY WILLIAM & MARY, 3-0

Bryana Carey hit .344 with 15 kills and Ginny Bray had 12 kills and a match-high .409 hitting percentage to lead William & Mary to a 3-0 win (30-18, 30-24, 30-19) over Norfolk State Tuesday night at Echols Hall.

Carey added three service aces, two digs, and one block for the Tribe (5-8). Cassie Crumal had 39 assists and Molly Bohman was in on 2.5 blocks.

For NSU (1-12), freshman Heather Quinn led the way with seven kills and a .217 attack percentage. Junior Shardonay Blueford had six kills, 11 digs, and one solo block.

Juniors Chantel Cherry and Yolanda Roberts combined for eight kills and accounted for the team’s seven aces. Sophomore Solange Honore had 20 assists and Abaina Farrell had a team-high 13 digs.

NSU heads to Winston-Salem, N. C. on Thursday to take on the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State at 7 p.m.
