MEAC ANNOUNCES VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS

University of Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Caylin Woodward was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Florida A&M University’s Jovana Blazeski was named Rookie of the Week for the second straight week.

Woodward (6-0, So., Garden Grove, California) recorded a double-double of 15 kills and 10 digs along with five aces to lead the Lady Hawks to a conference win over Morgan State. Woodward was 15-of-30 while averaging a .467 hitting percentage with only one error. The win snapped a four-match losing streak against the Lady Bears for UMES and was the first conference opener defeat for Morgan State in 16 years.
