B-CU Women?s Tennis Team Honored for Academic Excellence by the ITA

Four Women’s Tennis Student-Athletes Named to ITA All-Academic Squad

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced on Wednesday that the B-CU women’s tennis team as well as four Bethune-Cookman student-athletes was named to their annual All-Academic Team.

Valerie Kendrick, Monika Musilova, Olga Ruislova and Jeneice Ward were all selected to be present on the nationally recognized team for the women’s side of things.

Any one team carrying a 3.2 Grade Point Average or better is eligible for the award. The Wildcats women’s squad collected this award for the 2006-07 campaign. In fact, B-CU and fellow Volusia County neighbor Stetson University were the only Division I women’s teams in the state of Florida honored collectively for holding achieving this honor.

Four B-CU’s student-athletes were named to the 3.5 GPA squad or better. The Wildcats carried a collective 3.6 GPA together throughout the year as a team. Valerie Kendrick, Monika Musilova, Olga Ruislova and Jeneice Ward picked up the honors for the ?Cats.

Competing in their second consecutive MEAC Championship to South Carolina State, the Wildcats showed they are championship caliber material on and off the playing surface. Musilova and Ruislova were also named to the All-MEAC Team as well.
