LADY BULLDOGS TO FACE GEORGIA IN NCAA REGIONAL

ORANGEBURG, SC ? The South Carolina State women’s tennis team will meet host Georgia in the first-round action of the NCAA Tennis Regional May 11-12 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

The Lady Bulldogs, 21-5, and ranked 75th nationally, are one of 64 teams participating in the prestigious tournament which culminates May 22 with the national championship game.

No. 2-ranked Georgia and Coach Hardeep Judge’s team will be meeting for the first time. North Carolina State and Auburn will clash in the second first-round game with the winner to face either Georgia of S.C. State in the second round.

The S.C. State women are in the tournament for a third consecutive year after earning their third straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship and the automatic berth that goes with it.

In their two previous trips to the Championship, the Lady Bulldogs lost to then No. 2 ranked Florida (2005) and No. 9 ranked North Carolina (2006).
