Morgan State senior Jeniqua Moran was selected
as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the
Week, the league announced on Monday. Bethune-Cookman University’s
Alyse Guzman was named Rookie of the Week.
Moran (5-11, Sr., Brampton, Ontario) averaged 19 kills, 10.5 digs and
3.0 service aces in two matches, while leading the Lady Bears to a 1-1
record last week. Moran recorded a double-double of 19 kills and 14
digs and added four aces, four blocks and two assists in a win against
Delaware State. The outside hitter tallied a team-high 19 kills and
posted seven digs, five blocks, three assists and two service aces
against American. This is the second consecutive week that Moran has
earned Player of the Week accolades.
Guzman (5-10, Fr., Vacaville, California) recorded 16 digs and one ace
in a loss to Florida A&M. The setter followed with six kills and
two digs, while only playing in one of the four games against
Winston-Salem State. Guzman finished the week 7-of-14 from the floor
and hit an average of .357.

Dominque Bozier (MSU) recorded a match-high six blocks against American.
Danielle Goodrum (B-CU) tallied 16 kills and 14 digs in two matches for the Wildcats last week.
Christina Estebane’ (UMES) recorded her third triple-double of the season in a conference win over Howard last week.
