Esther Johnson and Jeniqua Moran each tallied double-doubles with a match-high 19 kills apiece, while adding 15 and 14 digs, respectively, to lead Morgan State to a 3-1 (30-26, 30-27, 24-30, 30-18) victory over Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball match at Hill Field House on Monday night. With the win, the Lady Bears (8-14, 6-2 MEAC) have won the first three of their current six-match home stand, while extending their winning streak to a season-high five matches. Moran, who earlier in the day was named MEAC Player of the Week, added a match-high four service aces and Johnson added two, as Morgan State totaled nine aces for the night. Delaware State (6-18, 3-3 MEAC) was led by Cassandra Joyner, who finished with 15 kills and 16 digs. Erica Tajchman added 13 kills and 11 digs. Kinga Muszynski had a match-tying 21 digs and Laura Huculak recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs. Ashley Preston finished with a match-tying 21 digs and Jentri Fullove notched 47 assists and nine digs for the Lady Bears. Dominique Bozier led Morgan State with six total blocks and Moran added four, to help the team to a 9-6 advantage over the Lady Hornets in blocks. Bozier also finished with 10 digs and seven kills. Morgan State returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 24, when it plays host to American in a non-conference match at Hill Field House at 7 p.m.
