MORGAN STATE VOLLEYBALL WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT; KNOCKS OFF NJIT 3-0

Esther Johnson tallied a match-high 14 kills, while Ivanti Bush added 13 kills and Jeniqua Moran finished with a double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs to lead host Morgan State to a 3-0 (30-24, 30-26, 30-21) non-conference victory over New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on Wednesday night at Hill Field House.

With the win, Morgan State (7-14), which is currently on a season-best four-match winning streak, picked up its second win of the season over a non-conference opponent, while avenging an earlier 3-0 loss to NJIT in Newark.

Jentri Fullove finished with 40 assists and Ashley Preston totaled a match-high 16 digs. Dominique Bozier led the Lady Bears with a match-high two blocks to lead Morgan State to a 3-1 advantage in blocks. Bozier also finished with six kills and four digs. Johnson, who finished with nine digs, falling short of a double-double, led the team with two service aces.

As a team, the Lady Bears had 49 kills and hit for .300 percent as a team, while NJIT finished with 43 kills for a .205 hitting percentage.

The Knights (8-19) were led by Katrina Hornstein, who finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. Sabrina Baby led NJIT with a team-high 13 digs and Kubra Tanrikulu added 11 digs and eight kills. Erica Schultz finished with 21 assists.

The Lady Bears return home on Monday, Oct. 22, when they play host to Delaware State, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match at Hill Field House at 7 p.m.
