South Carolina State teammates Cleveland McCoy and Markee Hamlin were selected as the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
SCSU’s Julius Wilkerson and James Lee also earned weekly accolades earning the league’s Rookie and Offensive Lineman of the Week honors respectively. In all four Bulldog student-athletes earned MEAC weekly football honors.
James Meade of Morgan State University was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for the second week in a row.
McCoy (QB, 6-2, 210, Sr., Hollywood, SC) accounted for over 300 yards total offense in the Bulldogs 49-14 win over Florida A&M. McCoy completed 77-percent of his passes (14-of-19) with two touchdowns and rushed for 136 yards on 11 carries. He led the Bulldogs to 611 total offensive yards, a record against the Rattler defese.
Hamlin (DB/SS, 6-0, 170, r-So., Lamar, SC) tallied five tackles, three solo, and a pass break up in the Bulldogs win. He also recorded two interceptions, one which resulted in a Bulldog touchdown, as part of a Bulldog defense that limited the FAMU Rattlers to 198 total yards.
Wilkerson (LB, 6-4, 225, Fr., Gaffney, SC) recorded six total tackles, four solo, in his first opportunity for extended play. He also graded out at 91-percent on all assignments, the best performance for a Bulldog freshman this season.
Lee (OT, 6-6, 300, r-Sr., Belle Glade, FL) aided the Bulldogs to 611 total offensive yards that included 405 yards rushing. He also posted five domination blocks and 11 cut blocks.
Meade (PK, 5-9, 180, Jr., Upper Marlboro, Md.), last week’s Special teams Player of the Week, accounted for 12 of his team’s 36 points. The junior converted on 3-of-4 field goals and connected field goals of 38-yards, 43-yards (season-high), and a game winning 23-yarder in overtime.

Don Carey (NSU) blocked an extra point by the Pirates with 27 seconds left to secure a 20-19 win over Hampton.
Michael Creary (FAMU) recorded a career-high 10 tackles, eight solo, against the Bulldogs.
Maquell Davis (NSU) tallied a team-high 11 tackles, including a half of a tackle for a loss of one yard, in the Spartans win over Hampton.
Dwayne Delaney (MSU) helped the Bears offense amass 430 total yards, 276 in the air, and graded out at 98-percent on his assignments in the team’s victory.
Martin Decembert (HOW) returned three kicks for 103 yards, including a career-best 61 yarder that set up the Bison’s first touchdown of the game.
Peter Gaetner (DSU) scored nine of the Hornets 27 points, kicking 32 and 42-yard field goals, and three PATs.
Rudy Hardie (HOW) recorded seven solo and two assisted tackles including 3.5 for a loss of 13 yards against the Bears.
Devan James (MSU) ran for a team-high 73 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown in the Bears win.
Brian Johnson (HOW) completed 7-of-16 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears.
Reggie McCoy (DSU) recorded nine total tackles, three for a loss of 13 yards, in the Hornets win over N.C. A&T.
Michael Russell (HOW) graded out at 98-percent on all assignments and helped the Bison rush for 198 yards against Morgan State. He also posted three pancake blocks.
Wesley Taylor (FAMU) recorded 331 yards on seven boots for an average of 47.3 yards per punt in the Rattlers loss to S.C. State. He also finished 2-of-2 in PAT’s.
Lamar West (MSU) collected nine tackles (three solo), recorded a sack for a nine-yard loss, and a quarterback hurry against the Bison.
